All We Need is a Baby!

Ok, as of tomorrow, I am officially 39 weeks which means I am SOOOOOO ready for our baby girl to get here! Now that we are past Christmas I feel like it is game on and anytime she wants to get here is fine by me! I go back to work tomorrow and am supposed to work all week unless Zoe graces us with her presence and I so do not know how I am going to get anything done at work because all I can think about is her and how labor is going to be. Although there was no official progress at the doctor last time we went, I feel like my belly gets bigger every day, no make that, every second. So we go back to the doctor on Thursday the 30th and needless to say, if there's no progress still, I am going to be pissed! Everyone think good thoughts and maybe it will pass along some good juju our way :)

In the meantime, here's the official nursery photo tour....like I said, all we need is a baby!

The owl pics Taylor got me for my birthday....I just love owls, especially for babies, don't know why!

We had the stripes custom-painted...it was the one thing I knew I wanted for the nursery as soon as we found out we were pregnant. And my friend Mary painted us the Z letter which was the finishing touch for above the crib! I just love how it turned out...isn't she crafty?!?

We bought the glider from our friend Amy, and that teddy bear I knitted myself when I was about 4 months pregnant!

This was my old dresser that I had growing up...we painted it white and added Anthropologie knobs. How's that for a hand-me-down!

Merry Christmas 2010!

>

So I was really bad this year at taking pictures so there's not many to report but that doesn't mean we didn't have a great time! Christmas Eve was my parents' 34th wedding anniversary so as per our annual tradition, we went out to a nice steak dinner at Silver Fox to celebrate. Reed and Parker did pretty great considering we were at a fancy restaurant with a 2 1/2 year old and a 6 month old. Just a few little fusses so we ate pretty quick and then went back to our house to do stockings. Reed got a Thomas the Train track set which was so fun to see him play with, although he did not like the motorized version....he liked to be able to push it himself!

Christmas morning Taylor and I started our new tradition of doing Christmas just the two of us which was quite nice. We got to sleep in a little, made coffee and exchanged stockings to each other. Then we got dressed and went to Carter's house for brunch and opened more gifts!

We then got to get in a nice afternoon nap before going over to Kathy's for round 3! She made a great meal like always and everyone got more nice gifts. Ethan and Sophie had more gifts to open then they knew what to do with....it's so fun to see how Christmas changes with all the rugrats about. All in all, it was a great Xmas, although I have to admit I was quite pooped by the end of the night....almost 39 weeks pregnant with all the Xmas excitement can take it out of you!

But I can't wait until next year when Zoe will be almost 12 months old for her first Xmas!

Nolan's Visit to Texas!

My BFF, Katie Nolan, came to visit us this past weekend and it was just like old times! Nolan and I lived together in college our junior and senior years and now that she is back in Baltimore I don't get to see her near as often as I like, but one thing I like about old friends, no matter how often you get to see them, it's always nice to be able to pick up right where you left off like you haven't missed a beat. That's how it is with Nolan - I just love her!

We had a great time....went to the new Fireside Pies on Friday, then had a day in Dallas where we ate at Ozona's and saw the awesome new flick, Black Swan. Went to the new sushi restaurant Blue on Saturday with the Costanzas and it was equally delightful. Should have taken way more pictures than I did but oh well.

We love you Nolan....can't wait for our next visit when you will be Tante Nols to Zoe!

My first blog post!

Ok, so here goes...my first official attempt at blogging! I am a self-proclaimed "blog stalker" I will admit and look forward to the part of my day when I can read all my favorite blogs out there, but I never realized how much effort and time went into managing these things! So please be patient with me....I'm still learning all the nooks and crannies of this thing.

But I wanted to create a place for friends and family to see pictures of Zoe and the Fergs as we are soon to be a family of THREE so I thought this would be the easiest way to share our latest happenings and update everyone on how we're doing. Plus it will be fun to have a permanent "scrapbook" of sorts to look back on.

With that said.....

I am 35 weeks and 3 days into this pregnancy and am SO ready to be done! Although there have been many things that have sucked about being pregnant, and believe me, Taylor has heard me bitch about plenty of them, I am so fortunate and it is truly amazing to be growing a life inside me as corny as that may sound. At this point, I can literally feel her move and kick, hiccup, can look down at my ever-growing stomach and see her move- it is so wild!

Every day brings new pains and gains it seems like....I have so many different emotions going on right now ranging from excitement, to sheer panic, to praying to God that I'll know what to do when she actually gets here. But people figure that out right?!? I mean, they don't call it maternal instinct for nothing, right? Let's hope!

Here's some pics from our baby showers and my bump!
